August 28 LA Planning Alliance Meeting
On the verge of a change of Mayor, the Department of City Planning is issuing major changes under the gaze of state requirements on housing which the city has failed to address adequately. We have thousands sleeping on our streets and the idea that up zoning is going to solve the housing crisis does not pan water. To add to that dilemma, City Planning is also revamping our Community Plans which haven’t been updated in years under a new Policies and Procedures Ordinance. Will any of this create what we need? Or will we continue to build luxury housing for the few?

We look at the implosion of Let It Rot in China as investment strategies not unlike those fostered within our City Planners are in decline, but also how TOC’s may fail to address the last mile to transportation, and the possible housing bubble upon us.
